Hi, I’m Mike Dēden, I’ve been a Product Designer/Developer for 30 plus years and an ardent SolidWorks® expert for the last 25. SolidWorks® is a premium professional grade Computer Aided Design (CAD) suite utilized by professional Designers and Engineers. By mastering SolidWorks®, I help businesses, entrepreneurs, fabricators, and inventors create innovative, safe, reliable, and successful products. I am a technology enthusiast that spends countless hours researching new innovative products, technologies, and extreme engineering. When I’m not working, I’m an avid mountain biker, strength & conditioning enthusiast, fly fisherman, and am commonly found with my wife following our two collegiate athletes.
I got my start as a Product Designer while developing my own product called the KOR Trainer™, a state-of-the-art Squat-Based exercise device. In developing the KOR Trainer™ accompanied by my relentless drive, my tool bag of skills and experiences grew. I first bought an old school Drafting Machine and a LINDE 225 Mig Welder, followed by a Bridgeport Milling Machine and a Dell desktop computer. I initially loaded the Dell desktop computer with AUTOCAD® Release14, a non-parametric based CAD program and soon mastered it. It wasn’t long after that a mechanical engineering buddy “showed me the light” and got me on the parametric-based CAD program called SolidWorks®, a playground for Product Designers and Engineers.

Product Development involves Intellectual Property or IP of which I have become fully versed in. My first Patent experience involves protecting the Intellectual Property I created while developing the KOR Trainer™. Knowing then, that the patent process will become an important part of my professional career, I decided to add another tool to my tool bag and master the patent process. As a result, I was awarded my first US Patent No. 5,088,728 titled “Thoracic Exercise Harness”. Interestingly, I was contacted by NASA to collaborate with their scientists & engineers regarding this patent. Consequently, NASA funded a trip for me to present my technology at the Johnson Space Center. I spent a day consulting with the scientists & engineers responsible for designing the equipment & protocols that maintain the muscle mass and bone density of astronauts on board the International Space Station. Since then and through my career, I have been awarded with numerous other Patents and Publications that include the following links: US Patent No. 5,088,728 ; US Patent No. 5,256,122 ; US Patent Publication 2013/0234418A1 ; US Patent Publication 2013/0234420A1 ; US Patent No. D704,410S ; US Patent No. 10,016,666 ; US Patent No. 11,260,935 ; US Patent No. 11,358,042 ; Finn Golf Scooter ; KOR Trainer vs Conventional Barbell Squat ; and other patents pending.
Rest assured, when I become involved in a project it becomes my passion to outperform the competition and deliver a superior product. Would you like to work together? I would love to hear from you. I am patient, positive and easy to talk to. DĒDEN DESIGNWORKS LLC is based out of Missoula, Montana and serves both large and small clients regionally.
